San Gimignano: Guided winery tour and picnic among the olive trees

During this two-hour experience, you will have the unique opportunity to walk among the olive trees surrounding the winery with your picnic basket and delicious dishes ready to satisfy your taste buds. You will be free to choose the ideal place to sit, spread your blanket and admire the surrounding landscape while enjoying your lunch.

Inside the basket you will find everything you need for the picnic: blanket, dishes, water, a bottle of wine, appetizers, cold cuts and cheese, and a serving of pappa al pomodoro.

Before enjoying your picnic, however, you will have a chance to visit the winery, where excellent wines are produced. Here you will discover the secrets of this entirely family-run business, which each year allows the creation of unique products: from the production of Chianti and Vernaccia wines, as well as the processes of creating extra virgin olive oil.

You will be welcomed by a young, dynamic and knowledgeable staff who will be able to advise you on which wine to pair with your meal, after offering you a small welcome glass. That’s right, you can choose the bottle to accompany you on your picnic.

To make you feel as welcome as possible, you will be greeted by staff on arrival with a welcome glass.
You will be taken on a tour of the winery to learn first-hand about the history of the founding family and the winemaking and oil production techniques used today.
You will hear the secrets that are hidden within the flavours, smells and colours of these two Italian excellences.

Picnic basket with typical products

During your picnic, you can enjoy an authentic Tuscan experience thanks to the delicious picnic basket you will pick up at the winery.
The basket contains, in addition to your meal, a comfortable blanket and compostable, recyclable tableware.
You will find typical products created with top-quality ingredients, such as Tuscan appetizers (bruschetta, a selection of local cured meats and cheeses), and a tasty portion of pappa al pomodoro.
Pappa al pomodoro is one of the typical Tuscan regional dishes: it is made with tomato, stale bread and garlic. A poor dish of the Tuscan tradition, it was (and still is) eaten by people who live in this beautiful land.

A lunch surrounded by nature

You will be immersed in nature for the whole duration of your picnic.
Our staff will show you the best vantage points in the olive grove so that you can enjoy all the peace and tranquillity of this place and admire the landscape in all its facets.
You can sit on your blanket after strolling among wonderful olive trees with rough, fragrant wood. After that all you have to do is enjoy your delicious lunch.

Bottle of wine of your choice

The staff will help you choose the bottle of wine to accompany your picnic and will be able to advise you on the best product to accompany the dishes you will be tasting during the meal.
This choice is crucial because the bottle you choose will accompany your lunch in front of the wonderful spectacle offered by nature.
You can choose from Chianti wines, Vernaccia wines and the wines the winery produces. A bottle of wine for 2 people is included in the package, to give you the opportunity to taste all the aromatic peculiarities of the DOCG labels produced here.
